About the position

The Supply Chain Manager plays a crucial role in developing and managing the company's supply chain and logistics strategies to enhance operational efficiency and productivity. This position involves building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and distributors, ensuring smooth operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess an analytical mindset, strong business acumen, and a results-oriented approach, with a focus on problem-solving and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Supply Chain Support Team, encompassing purchasing and material handling.
  • Implement quality systems to drive toward zero defects for both suppliers and internal functions.
  • Achieve a consistent 98% On-Time Delivery rate on a monthly basis.
  • Employ countermeasures to prevent recurring safety, quality, or delivery issues.
  • Meet and exceed site and corporate goals for supplier quality, inventory management, shortages, PPV, material costs vs. revenue, and related metrics.
  • Oversee and manage all site inventory, ensuring goals for accuracy and turnover are met.
  • Implement Kanban systems for both internal and external operations where appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by planning and leading effective kaizen events.
  • Expand personal knowledge of lean manufacturing principles through ongoing education.
  • Eliminate waste across the entire Supply Chain Support Team.
  • Support and maintain 5-S practices and site goals.
  • Negotiate vendor costs to achieve maximum savings and efficiency.
  • Perform detailed evaluations of Make vs. Buy decisions for site operations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor evaluation and rating system.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental reporting requirements.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in supply chain management.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the efforts of a Supply Chain Team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Training in continuous improvement methodologies and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with buyers and customers, ensuring mutually beneficial vendor relationships.
  • Strong reasoning skills and the ability to make sound independent decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Syteline preferred).
  • A team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments and facilities to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of resolving complex challenges with urgency.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
