We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Manager to support our development teams and contract manufacturing partners in the sourcing of memory related activities. The goal is to bring up memory components at low cost to support Dojo and autopilot platforms from New Product Introduction (NPI) to High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) phases. This role will report to the logic and memory group manager in the supply chain group and will also serve as an active sourcing resource supporting various Engineering groups within Tesla. In this position, you will interface with memory vendors from engineering design all the way through to the end of life. You will be the owner of Request for Quotations (RFQs), ensuring that all commercial terms are agreed upon and documented. It is essential to ensure that Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated and appropriately finalized before business is initiated. You will drive piece pricing to ensure that Tesla's commodity pricing meets Best-In-Class expectations while adhering to Supplier Industrialization standards of Best-In-Class quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad-hoc price negotiations. Your responsibilities will also include addressing all areas of category management, including category business plans, market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies. You will monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and actively partner with the Design teams to identify and mitigate supply and demand challenges. Managing supplier relationships and performance will be crucial, including dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews. You will participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners, requiring an ability to understand technical datasheets and specifications, as well as a basic knowledge of manufacturing process controls and quality assurance for your commodity space. Comfortable communication with technical stakeholders both internally and externally is essential, as is the ability to communicate key supply, cost, and/or quality issues with management teams and develop corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks.
