The Global Supply Chain Manager - Should Cost at Westinghouse Electric Co is a pivotal role responsible for developing and managing a Should Cost team dedicated to creating and implementing a comprehensive costing program for large, complex structures and equipment, specifically the AP1000, AP300, and eVinci models. This position requires a strategic approach to cost management, where the individual will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Category Management for these projects. The role involves leveraging internal engineering and manufacturing expertise, as well as engaging third-party contributors, to establish a robust Should Costing program. The outputs from this program will serve as critical data points for negotiations with suppliers, aimed at reducing costs associated with materials, labor, and fabrication processes. In addition to cost management, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, and leading a team that will ensure the effective maintenance of the Should Costing program. This program is essential for achieving the most efficient Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for large-scale project equipment and structures. The manager will also support category strategies by providing essential costing data that will influence negotiations leading to business awards tied to Long Term Agreements (LTA). Furthermore, the role requires ongoing research and analysis of industry trends, best practices, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation and productivity improvements. The successful candidate will need to foster productive relationships with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Procurement, and will be tasked with identifying and managing third-party suppliers to enhance the Should Costing Program. This position is integral to the organization’s goal of delivering annual business results that align with cost targets and project objectives.
