About the position

The Global Specialty Fulfillment team at Amazon is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager who possesses a strong delivery record and proven project management experience. This role is pivotal in owning strategic, tactical, cross-functional, and technology projects and programs within Amazon Supply Chain. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for regular communication with operation teams, tech teams, and project sponsors regarding project status, risks, and change control. This position requires a focus on sales and operations planning, inventory management, and driving process improvements across the program. The successful candidate will dive deep into forecasting performance to build robust outputs, ensuring that plans, feedback, and goals are aligned among all stakeholders. In this role, the Supply Chain Manager will manage the full lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs that have considerable impact across multiple organizations. This includes the development of the overall program strategy and tactically driving teams both within and outside of the organization to deliver on objectives. The manager will define the program's mission, vision, and tenets, set objectives, analyze data, and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics. The ability to work autonomously in an ambiguous environment is crucial, as the manager will need to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and the rationale behind leadership decisions. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager will partner with various teams across the business to source, allocate, and coordinate resources effectively. They will oversee gaps between teams, processes, and systems, helping to reduce exposure to classic failure modes such as insufficient stakeholder review and ineffective cross-team collaboration. The role also involves solving ambiguous problems and proactively identifying and mitigating risks before they become roadblocks. The manager will work closely with program managers, business leaders, and the executive team to communicate and impact critical business initiatives, develop and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, and provide visibility to milestones and performance across all projects. The position requires a hands-on approach, embodying a general manager or owner mentality, and includes creating, communicating, and managing budgets for projects.
