About the position
The Supply Chain Manager Trainee at WebstaurantStore is responsible for assisting in the management of inbound, inventory, safety, and outbound operations. This role focuses on developing tools and resources to enhance productivity and support business growth while ensuring high levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction. The Manager Trainee will also support training needs and maintain operational knowledge across various departments.
Responsibilities
- Support the management of day-to-day decisions regarding operations to ensure quality and inventory accuracy.
- Monitor metrics for assigned departments and resolve operating issues as needed.
- Provide clear communication to teams regarding productivity and company policies.
- Engage in managing by walking around and serve as a role model of company culture.
- Support staffing needs to meet operating metrics consistently.
- Promote employee engagement and ensure safety regulations are followed.
- Participate in manager meetings to share information and updates.
- Maintain operational knowledge by working with each department monthly.
- Analyze opportunities for improvement in productivity and efficiency.
- Serve as a back-up for department line managers when absent.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in operations management.
- Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in a distribution environment preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs with emotional intelligence.
- Customer service-oriented attitude.
