The Supply Chain Manager is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for overseeing all procurement activities across the company. This position requires the implementation of efficient sourcing strategies aimed at optimizing supply chain operations. The role encompasses managing the entire life cycle of component procurement, starting from the initial stages of vendor selection to the point where the components are installed in the spacecraft. The Supply Chain Manager will collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop sourcing strategies, create supplier roadmaps, conduct market analyses, and perform design and cost trade-off analyses to ensure that quality, pricing, and delivery standards are consistently met. In this role, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for sourcing electronics and printed circuit board assemblies, which are critical to Astranis's plans for scaling and cost management. The position involves analyzing current spending patterns and evaluating existing suppliers to consolidate spending across the supply base, thereby creating leverage. The manager will also analyze purchasing trends and develop alternative sourcing strategies. A key responsibility will be to identify new high-potential suppliers and manage the Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes, ensuring that all commercial terms are agreed upon and documented appropriately. The Supply Chain Manager will negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and Master Purchase Agreements to ensure that all agreements are positioned correctly before business transactions commence. Additionally, the role requires evaluating and providing guidance on the final selection of suppliers, performing value analyses for supplier selection, and addressing all aspects of category management, including developing category business plans, conducting global market and pricing analyses, and providing procurement support. The manager will monitor current market conditions, technology roadmaps, and identify supply and demand challenges and opportunities. Ultimately, the Supply Chain Manager will develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that align with business objectives and foster sustainable relationships with suppliers.
