About the position

The Supply Chain Manager is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for overseeing the procurement of supplies and managing various aspects of inventory and supply distribution. This position plays a crucial part in budget management, ensuring compliance with contracts, and maintaining service agreements. The Supply Chain Manager will also be involved in negotiating purchases and managing messenger services, which are essential for the smooth operation of the supply chain. Additionally, this role chairs the house-wide Value Analysis Team, which focuses on evaluating the value of products and services used within the organization to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality. In this capacity, the Supply Chain Manager will lead a team that includes Buyers, Product Specialists, Print Shop/Mail Room Services, and Messengers. This leadership role requires not only a strong understanding of supply chain processes but also the ability to mentor and guide team members to achieve departmental goals. The Supply Chain Manager will be expected to implement best practices in purchasing and inventory management, ensuring that the organization has the necessary supplies to operate efficiently while adhering to budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement of supplies and materials for the organization.
  • Assist with inventory management and supply distribution.
  • Manage budget compliance and contract adherence.
  • Negotiate purchases and service agreements with vendors.
  • Chair the house-wide Value Analysis Team to evaluate product and service value.
  • Lead and manage a team of Buyers, Product Specialists, Print Shop/Mail Room Services, and Messengers.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree required with two years applicable purchasing experience and/or relevant education.
  • Previous relevant supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing procedures and systems.
  • Expertise with ERP platforms such as Workday, particularly in the healthcare field.
  • Certification from a recognized Purchasing organization.
