About the position

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing supply chain operations, ensuring efficient processes, cost-effective sourcing, and timely delivery of products. This role involves leading initiatives for continuous improvement and collaborating with various departments to enhance overall supply chain performance. The manager will handle customer order fulfillment, procurement, production scheduling, inventory control, and internal material handling, while also maintaining key relationships with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize supply chain operations.
  • Lead the procurement process and material cost reduction strategy.
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
  • Ensure compliance with import and export procedures and documentation.
  • Monitor on-time deliveries and escalate risks internally.
  • Create a comprehensive master production schedule and forecast based on efficiency and materials plan.
  • Manage customer demand and forecast changes, ensuring confirmation with Operations Management.
  • Lead inventory management including cycle counts and year-end inventories.
  • Utilize the ERP system for end-to-end coordination and optimize data processing systems.
  • Develop and review internal KPIs regularly to monitor performance.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing techniques to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  • Conduct assessments of supply chain performance using Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Foster relationships with suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Lead Kaizen events to drive process enhancements across the supply chain.

Requirements

  • 5 years of OEM or Tier 1 automotive experience required.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in purchasing, scheduling, and planning.
  • Familiarity with Automotive QMS certifications and standards (IATF, CCC, VDA, etc.).
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and automotive ERP systems (Plex).
  • Basic understanding of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Finance and budgeting knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
