About the position

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced individual wanting to pursue a career path in the supply-chain industry. You will be responsible for overseeing and meeting due dates for goods and materials used within the stainless steel industry. This position is part of our U.S. Stainless Services & Solutions located in Sterling Heights, MI. Aperam Stainless Services & Solutions USA provides precision slit coils and blanks, with a focus on appliance, automotive, stamping, drawing, forming, and industrial manufacturing markets. The successful candidate will possess proven world-class experience in performing supply chain management. This includes a detailed understanding of purchasing, standard costing, negotiation, elements of basic contracts, payment terms, logistics, lead times, min/max inventory levels, international shipments, supplier/vendor selection, and working in conjunction with production planning for material availability.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and distributors
• Ensure customer satisfaction with timely deliveries
• Negotiate with material vendors on sourcing, pricing, and material availability
• Collaborate with sales and production teams to forecast demand, anticipate customer needs, and develop demand plans
• Analyze supply chain data and solve any issues or put alternative plans in place
• Collaborate with Logistic Broker for international shipments
• Perform inventory management and analytical work to analyze inventories and determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service
• Monitor and maintain minimal stock levels for program-based customers
• Continuously review logistical functions and identify areas of improvement
• Prepare reports on supply chain performance
• Communicate with stakeholders
• Enforce strict adherence to safety standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Business related field required
• Previous experience as a supply chain or purchasing manager in a similar industry
• 3-5+ years of stainless steel experience
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
• Analytical skills in all Microsoft Office applications, including, but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
