About the position

Aston Carter is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our team in Wheaton, IL. This is a hybrid, permanent position that plays a critical role in developing and executing comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with organizational goals and market dynamics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, with at least 5 years of progressive experience in leadership roles. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement across the supply chain. In this role, you will lead demand forecasting activities, collaborating closely with sales, marketing, and other relevant teams to generate accurate demand forecasts and anticipate customer needs. You will drive the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between sales forecasts, production plans, and inventory levels. This position requires strong analytical thinking and skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies that enhance supply chain performance. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager will lead supplier relationship management efforts, negotiating contracts, and optimizing supplier performance. You will implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity of supply, while also developing inventory management strategies that balance customer demand with cost efficiency. Your leadership will be crucial in providing mentorship to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals and market dynamics.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement.
  • Lead demand forecasting activities, collaborating closely with sales, marketing, and other relevant teams.
  • Utilize forecasting tools and market insights to generate accurate demand forecasts and anticipate customer needs.
  • Drive the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between sales forecasts, production plans, and inventory levels.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to optimize resource allocation and achieve business objectives.
  • Lead supplier relationship management efforts, negotiating contracts, and optimizing supplier performance.
  • Implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Develop inventory management strategies to balance customer demand with cost efficiency.
  • Utilize analytics and forecasting techniques to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a track record of success in leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, practices, and industry trends.
  • Analytical thinking and skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Experience in demand planning, sales & operations planning, and supplier management.
  • SAP experience.
