The Supply Chain Manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing our supply chain processes. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance the overall performance of our supply chain with a specific focus on sheet steel-related products (coils). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management within the steel industry, demonstrating expertise in procurement, negotiations, inventory management, vendor relations, and steel market price drivers. In this role, you will develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize the steel supply chain, considering factors such as overall cost reduction, lead-time reduction, and inventory management. You will cultivate and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating favorable pricing and terms to ensure a stable, cost-effective supply chain. Additionally, you will manage supplier performance, including the supplier scorecard process, and address areas of concern as they arise. You will oversee the procurement process for steel materials, including sourcing, supplier selection, and overall management, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality products to support customer needs. Planning material procurement to optimize stock levels, reduce holding costs, and prevent stockouts while ensuring product quality and availability will be a key responsibility. You will also determine raw material pricing to be used for sales quotes for new and existing customers, initiate live market RFQs for raw material quotes, and provide timely steel market updates to ensure team members understand current market dynamics and trends. Collaboration with quality control team members to establish and maintain high-quality standards for steel products and suppliers throughout the supply chain is essential. You will assist with the new vendor qualification process and work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, quality, and finance, to ensure alignment and collaboration across departments. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
