The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, implementing, and controlling all supply chain activities and functions to meet budget and supply chain targets. This includes maximizing delivery performance, reducing costs, and managing inventories. The role requires representing the plant or operations unit towards both internal and external contacts regarding supply chain management (SCM) topics. The Supply Chain Manager will initiate, manage, and implement action plans aimed at the continuous improvement of all supply chain relevant processes, ensuring that the plant operates efficiently and effectively within the broader business unit and group strategies. In this position, the Supply Chain Manager will lead all supply chain activities and processes for the plant or operations unit. This includes defining the plant supply chain strategy and translating it into actionable plans that align with the business unit's SCM and group strategy. The manager will set specific SCM standards and requirements for both internal and external contacts, ensuring that these are implemented in accordance with the business unit and group standards. Additionally, the role involves implementing and monitoring specific policies, procedures, and standards for SCM, as well as managing optimization measures to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The Supply Chain Manager will also contribute to the strategic, budgetary, and operational planning of the plant, focusing on investments, inventory management, SCM costs, capacity, and headcount planning. They will define targets for the SCM plant or operations unit and ensure these are met while considering internal and external customer expectations. Continuous improvement activities will be initiated and implemented using CBS methods and training measures. The manager will oversee investments in supply chain equipment and interface with various functions to gather local supply chain requirements and feedback. Furthermore, they will represent the plant in discussions regarding SCM topics and lead change management initiatives within the SCM framework. Compliance with SCM regulations and conducting employee dialogues for personnel development and coaching are also key responsibilities.
