About the position

Indorama Ventures is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our Indovinya team in The Woodlands, TX. This role is pivotal in developing integrated business and supply chain planning solutions that synchronize customer demand, production assets, and working capital. The Supply Chain Manager will focus on driving improvements in customer service levels, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and achieving favorable financial results. The position will oversee Downstream Performance Solutions and Performance Surfactant product lines across five plants in the Americas region, ensuring that Indorama's global Import & Export operations generate maximum value while meeting and exceeding customer expectations at optimal costs. In the demand management aspect, the Supply Chain Manager will collaborate closely with the Global Demand Manager, Product Management, and Marketing teams to accurately capture demand within the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) timeline. This includes evaluating actual demand against forecasts and capacity to determine necessary order commitments or sales allocation plans. The role requires developing strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, finance, logistics, and supply chain execution, to ensure alignment and effective communication. Additionally, the manager will participate in evaluating new customer opportunities and execute risk assessments to ensure delivery performance based on customer segmentation. On the supply side, the manager will oversee Supply/Demand/Inventory management for a 24-month horizon, focusing on a mix of commodity and specialty products for Downstream derivatives. This includes liaising with the Trade Compliance team to ensure all import/export requirements are met and leading a cross-functional Supply Planning routine to balance supply and demand effectively. The role also involves setting global inventory targets, developing inventory strategies, and interfacing with supply chain managers in other regions to maintain a global supply balance. Continuous improvement is a key focus, with the manager expected to implement and maintain projects using Six Sigma, Lean, and best practices. This includes developing and implementing optimal distribution strategies, maintaining planning processes, and evaluating the effectiveness of SAP processes. The manager will also provide leadership and training to a team of 10-15, ensuring that the Downstream Supply Chain organization meets customer needs and develops a talent pipeline within the global operation community.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Global Demand Manager, Product Management, and Marketing to capture demand within IBP Timeline.
  • Evaluate actual demand versus forecast and capacity to determine if order commitment and/or sales allocation plans are warranted; propose and provide oversight of plans as needed.
  • Develop strong partnerships and alignment with cross-functional organizations including representatives in the business organizations, manufacturing, finance, logistics and supply chain execution.
  • Participate in evaluating new customer opportunities. Obtain agreed upon Customer Service Levels.
  • Execute risk assessments and address the risks, to ensure the delivery performance required, based on the customer segmentation.
  • Manage Supply/Demand/Inventory for a 24-month time horizon for mix of commodity and specialty products for Downstream derivatives.
  • Liaise with Trade Compliance team to ensure associated requirements are Embedded in I/E processes, and all personnel involved (such as brokers) execute them consistently.
  • Lead a cross functional Supply Planning monthly routine and recommend decisions that need to be taken to balance our supply and demand to maximize business results.
  • Prepare and present supply options and recommendations based on well documented scenarios that enable overall business objectives.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and oversight for short-term S&OP operations.
  • Provide functional leadership to regional Import & Export operation team, through training, tools & process, consultation, and proactive governance.
  • Set global inventory targets and manage inventories to those targets.
  • Interface with supply chain managers in other regions for global supply balance.
  • Develop inventory strategies that support working capital and cash objectives while enabling business continuity at our customers.
  • Establish a global Import & Export team network, share & leverage the best practices through pre-established cadence.
  • Implement and maintain continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma, Lean and supply chain best practices for process both within and outside of the supply chain function.
  • Provide input for planning support functions such as lab, QA, EM, and other functions.
  • Implement and maintain advanced planning solutions to provide integrated plans for all significant activities functionally required for order fulfilment.
  • Implement and maintain KPI's for the performance of the department and supply chain function.
  • Develop and implement the optimum distribution strategy to improve cost and deliver service.
  • Implement and maintain planning processes adequate to address the different needs of manufacturing, finance, and customer service.
  • Implement and maintain systems to monitor and update planning and scheduling master data to assure it is accurate and up to date for planning purposes.
  • Implement and maintain systems to monitor schedule adherence to plan capacity blocks and to improve schedule adherence.
  • Evaluate the SAP process effectiveness and provide input to logistics COE team for system enhancement or bringing in supplemental new tool/technology.
  • Streamline SOPs in I/E logistics related steps and hand offs, integrating logistics vendors of all modes and in-house logistics operation team to the same platform with aligned business processes.
  • Experience in leading teams of 10-15.
  • Provides both tactical and strategic oversight for the development, evaluation, implementation, administration, and coordination of all supply chain functions.
  • Implement training requirements necessary to bring the Downstream SC organization to a professional level that is adequate to meet customer needs.
  • Build up I/E knowledge repository, design I/E training curriculum to create a talent pipeline in the global operation community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain, preferred.
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and/or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS a plus.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes, preferably with 7+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, planning, scheduling and/or inventory management.
  • A profound understanding of the logistics industry - inland haulage, customs broker, freight forwarder, ocean market in particular.
  • In-depth understanding of transportation and warehousing processes.
  • Knowledge in Import & export regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Chemical Industry experience (preferred).
  • Demonstrated communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and software tools to enable adoption of digital capabilities for inventory and network optimization.
  • Strong professional and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with SAP (Understanding of advanced planning solutions like APO or OM Partners).
