The Produce Supply Chain Manager at Headwater Foods Inc. is responsible for planning and coordinating supply chain activities to meet customer demand while achieving the company's target gross profit margin and inventory goals. This role requires significant experience in produce purchasing and process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management. The manager will oversee various supply chain activities including purchasing, production planning, quality management, inventory management, and vendor billing. In this position, the manager will place purchase orders based on known orders and stock levels, ensuring high service levels to customers and addressing supply chain issues promptly. Daily communication with vendors is essential to maintain strong relationships and ensure that suppliers understand Headwater's objectives and expectations. The manager will also support operations, logistics, and supply chain managers in receiving and transferring inventory, and will collaborate with accounting to reconcile receipts with vendor invoices, resolving any discrepancies. The role involves identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in areas such as revenue increase, process improvement, vendor billing accuracy, inventory management, and supply chain cost reduction. The manager will assist in demand analysis and the creation of inventory replenishment strategies, as well as the design and implementation of daily kanban systems. Although there are no direct reports at this time, the manager will support other supply team members as needed, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a commitment to quality and dependability.
