About the position

The Supply Chain Manufacturing Specialist at Northrop Grumman plays a critical role in overseeing production processes and ensuring the effective scheduling and manufacturing of products. This position is essential for meeting customer demands and involves managing the creation of custom-engineered products, developing production protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires collaboration across various disciplines within the supply chain to maintain material availability and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Identify raw material and component requirements for production from engineering and production specifications, schedules, and bills of material (BOMs)
  • Generate and track purchase requisitions to support future build needs
  • Actively status Purchase Orders (POs) across assigned programs to ensure adherence to schedule, quantity, and invoicing timing
  • Track material quality and initiate actions to extend or eliminate expiring material
  • Coordinate with material program management, purchasing, production, logistics, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate quantities of materials are always on hand
  • Support and assist activities within multiple disciplines across the Supply Chain process
  • Resolve complex issues in a proactive, creative, and analytical manner
  • Identify risks and determine mitigation strategies with a mindset of continual improvement

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing facility or a closely related field; or a bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of experience; or a master's degree with 0 years of experience
  • For Level 2: High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience; or a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience; or a master's degree with 1 year of experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, production control, and manufacture of products
  • Experience with raw material and component requirements for production from engineering and production specifications and schedules
  • Experience with purchase requisitions
