About the position

Rockfon is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to join their Purchasing and Planning team at the Chicago facility. The role focuses on maximizing service levels while minimizing inventory levels, managing production and purchase orders, and maintaining data integrity within the ERP-SAP system. The Supply Chain Planner will ensure efficient operations and communication between various departments to support production and customer service needs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth and cost-efficient flow of production and goods movement operations.
  • Maintain ERP-SAP planning system parameters to manage inventory targets and material pipeline.
  • Achieve or exceed on-time shipment (OTS) targets.
  • Act as a central planning communication point between customer service and operations groups.
  • Analyze inventories to maintain the lowest possible inventory level while meeting customer order requirements.
  • Execute SAP MRP and replenishment activities for assigned products and locations.
  • Prevent shortage situations by proactively managing and monitoring inventory levels.
  • Initiate efforts to minimize and dispose of slow-moving, obsolete, and expiring inventory.
  • Communicate supply-related issues to management and impacted areas.
  • Review and update Planning and Scheduling Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Establish and manage master production schedules for finished goods products.
  • Prepare necessary analytical reports specific to Inventory/Production/Sales plans.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in production planning or master scheduling role required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • SAP knowledge and experience required.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of MRP functionality and production planning techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve problems independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of BOM usage and structures.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
