About the position

Spirit AeroSystems is seeking a Supply Chain Procurement Agent to join our team in Wichita, Kansas. In this role, you will be an authorized agent of the company, responsible for managing all supplier-related activities and having the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements. You will play a crucial role in researching, evaluating, and setting expectations for prospective suppliers for new business opportunities. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers is essential, as you will handle and manage the negotiation of contracts with them. Your responsibilities will include developing requests for quotations and proposals, analyzing supplier responses, negotiating and awarding contracts, and managing post-award supplier activities. You will interface with both internal and external customers and suppliers, ensuring that all supplier profiles and required documentation are updated. Additionally, you will manage inventory levels, simulation, modeling forecasting data, and supplier performance, while monitoring customer inventory demand and material assets to optimize total supply chain planning. In this position, you will incorporate planning decisions from customers and suppliers to reduce material and product variability, arriving at optimal solutions. You will also be responsible for communicating and tracking program changes as they are flowed down by the Prime/Company, providing Integrated Product Team representation and support, and managing change effectively. Your role will involve tracking affordability and conducting trade studies, performing Bases of Estimate (BOE) and estimating tasks, and supporting P&L activities. The ability to be decisive in complex problem-solving situations is crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements

Requirements

  • 6-9 years' experience in a supply chain role, preferably within the aerospace or manufacturing industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or other relevant course of study preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP/ERP Systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge/experience with/in manufacturing and manufacturing process a plus
  • High energy, dynamic personality with an ability to effect change
  • A Security Clearance is preferred but is not required to start employment however candidate must meet the criteria to apply for one if necessary
