About the position

The Supply Chain Product Analyst at Duke Health is responsible for analyzing and managing product-related issues within the health system. This role involves developing action plans, conducting reviews of stock outs and recalls, and ensuring optimal inventory levels across various service lines. The analyst serves as a liaison between clinical staff and supply vendors, focusing on cost containment and product standardization to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, analyze, and evaluate product-related issues to develop action plans and recommendations.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of stock outs and recalls to ensure product acceptability and standardization.
  • Develop and execute plans to manage inventory levels for all lines of service.
  • Lead projects with clinical staff to identify and evaluate new product opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage the progress of new alternative products through value analysis programs.
  • Establish communication between departments regarding product protocols and selections.
  • Formulate and implement product plans contributing to performance and financial objectives.
  • Review stock out reports and analyze trends to develop recommendations for Supply Chain Leadership.
  • Coordinate with vendors and clinical staff to procure supplies and identify substitutes.
  • Conduct detailed product/market assessments and prepare strategic plans for product introduction.
  • Develop communication plans for educational programs to increase customer knowledge of cost-effective products.
  • Facilitate workshops to improve knowledge of medical products within Supply Chain Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, or related field; Master's degree or Nursing degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management or 3 years RN experience involving supply chain processes.
  • Valid Driver's License may be required.
  • Strong personal leadership skills and ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to process significant amounts of detail accurately.
  • Possess a sense of urgency and a proactive, customer-based philosophy.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Knowledge of automated materials management functions.
