About the position

Turner Construction is seeking a Supply Chain Project Manager to lead, direct, and coordinate the day-to-day management of one or more Turner Logistics projects. This role involves close coordination with the national Logistics group and requires a proactive approach to managing logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating prospects for logistics sales opportunities, providing technical sales support for business development and pre-construction efforts, and leading logistics presentations. In this position, you will implement Turner Construction's purchasing and risk management policies and procedures, draft project-specific scopes of work for equipment vendors, and solicit vendor pricing. You will analyze vendor bids, prepare bid analysis spreadsheets, and ensure that vendor contract terms are closed on specified projects. Additionally, you will create, update, and maintain purchasing and submittal logs, solicit and develop vendor purchase orders, and assist the business unit in educating job site personnel regarding their requirements for the implementation of purchased equipment. The role also includes managing the budget and financial reporting, interpreting and analyzing reports to ensure adherence to the project budget, and overseeing the payment application process while tracking receivables. You will organize and run job meetings for each logistics project, schedule and coordinate factory testing, and compile and submit final equipment warranties and as-built drawings. This position may also involve supervisory responsibilities, ensuring that all logistics operations are executed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and coordinate day-to-day management of Turner Logistics projects.
  • Create prospects for Logistics' sales opportunities.
  • Provide technical sales support for Business Development/Pre-Construction.
  • Lead Logistics presentations.
  • Implement purchasing and risk management policies/procedures.
  • Draft project-specific scopes of work for equipment vendors.
  • Solicit vendor pricing and inform Supply Chain Product Manager of vendor involvement.
  • Analyze vendor bids and prepare bid analysis spreadsheets.
  • Close vendor contract terms on specified projects and ensure review of the bid process.
  • Create, update, and maintain purchasing and submittal logs.
  • Solicit, develop, draft, and route vendor purchase orders/scopes of work.
  • Assist the business unit in educating job site personnel regarding their requirements for implementation of purchased equipment.
  • Manage budget and financial reporting, interpreting and analyzing reports to ensure adherence to project budget.
  • Manage submittals/testing/delivery/start-up/training/record documents for purchased equipment.
  • Manage payment application process and track receivables.
  • Prepare and route vendor POs and scopes of work through the national Logistics group for review and approval.
  • Organize and run Job Meeting #1 for each Logistics project.
  • Schedule and coordinate factory testing and attend tests.
  • Compile and submit final equipment warranties and as-built drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Knowledge of estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques.
  • Understanding of general contract and subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and cost control procedures.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Knowledge of Plan Grid and Project Management software or similar is desirable.
