About the position

The Supply Chain Project Manager at K&M Tire plays a crucial role in enhancing business processes and optimizing inventory management through the use of demand planning software, specifically BlueRidge. Reporting directly to the Director of Purchasing, this position is designed for a professional who can effectively analyze and lead projects aimed at continuous improvement within the supply chain. The Supply Chain Project Manager will be responsible for managing metrics and reporting, ensuring that the company can accurately forecast customer demand and maintain optimal inventory levels. This role requires a blend of analytical skills and project management expertise, as the individual will act as both a business analyst and a project leader, driving procedural changes and technological advancements within the organization. In this position, the Supply Chain Project Manager will take ownership of the BlueRidge Supply Chain Analytics platform, creating necessary dashboards and reports to provide insights into demand forecast accuracy and inventory optimization. The role involves developing and maintaining performance metrics and KPIs to measure supply chain performance, generating regular reports to support decision-making, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align demand forecasts with inventory planning strategies. The individual will also be tasked with identifying and addressing root causes of supply chain issues, building change management plans, and assisting in the training of staff on BlueRidge processes. The Supply Chain Project Manager will focus on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory efficiencies and manage purchasing responsibilities for select vendors. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret data, and a commitment to upholding K&M Tire's values while supporting company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Primary owner of BlueRidge Supply Chain Analytics platform creating required dashboards and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics and KPIs to measure supply chain performance and track progress.
  • Generate regular reports to provide necessary insights on demand forecast accuracy, inventory optimization, and overall supply chain performance to support decision-making and business planning.
  • Using Supply Chain Analytics, develop and maintain Vendor Scorecards.
  • Proactively identify and address root cause of supply chain issues, such as capacity constraints, lead time variability (i.e. supplier disruptions), and demand fluctuations to mitigate risks and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Build and execute change management plans including the creation of SOPs and keeping them up to date.
  • Assist in training of staff and ongoing support for all BlueRidge processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Sales, & Operations to align demand forecasts with inventory planning strategies.
  • Assist in implementing solutions to bridge the gap between current processes to newly adopted supply chain approaches and processes.
  • Focus on Continuous Improvement to enhance inventory efficiencies that deliver upon department KPIs.
  • Manage Purchasing Responsibilities for select vendors as needed and assigned.
  • Be familiar with K&M's and field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.

Requirements

  • BlueRidge Demand Planning Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in forecasting and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, perform statistical analysis, and generate actionable insights.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and supply chain management to drive strategic decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long term projects.
  • Strong organizational, planning, research, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships at all levels and help others reach the goals of K&M Tire.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain Role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field and knowledge of tire industry (Preferred, but not required).
