About the position

The Supply Chain/Purchasing Co-Op position at Altec Industries is designed for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in business, supply chain, or operations management. This role involves working closely with engineers and supply chain analysts to identify and implement improvements within the materials team, contributing to various projects that enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness in supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities for the Materials team with guidance from Engineers and Supply Chain Analysts.
  • Assist in projects requiring creativity and innovation, including Cost Reduction, Process Design, Data Integrity, EOQ, and On-Hand Inventory Levels.
  • Maintain accurate material pricing.
  • Apply business principles and concepts for inventory control.
  • Operate spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Perform other recordkeeping duties as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and policies.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all plant and material yard areas.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 2- or 4-year program in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 24 hours of coursework or have earned sophomore class standing.
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
