About the position

The Supply Chain / Purchasing Manager at Midwest Petroleum Equipment is responsible for enhancing procurement strategies and managing supplier relationships. This role focuses on negotiating contracts, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support the company's operations. The ideal candidate will contribute to significant profit improvements and collaborate effectively within a flat organizational structure that values integrity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to determine the best pricing and payment terms, manage returns, and ensure the availability of materials.
  • Handle contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers.
  • Analyze market intelligence and trends to optimize procurement strategies.
  • Drive process improvements with procurement operations.
  • Oversee and manage the ordering process of related parts and materials, ensuring timely fulfillment.
  • Monitor order tracking to guarantee on-time delivery and minimize delays.
  • Develop customer portals and foster relationships with procurement representatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for estimates, pricing, and order coordination.
  • Work with the sales team to initiate orders for construction job parts and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate customer equipment information in relevant portals and communicate status updates.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
  • Assist in training new team members on order management and counter sales.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supply chain management.
  • Proven ability to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in managing inventory levels, implementing effective control systems, and optimizing stock levels.
  • Strong analytical capabilities for evaluating costs, supplier performance, and making data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality materials.
  • Attention to detail in managing orders, inventory levels, and supplier contracts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, fostering teamwork and achieving departmental objectives.
