About the position

The Supply Chain Systems Analyst (Logistics) Intern at Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) will engage in the complete life cycle supply chain management for components related to nuclear power plants. This role involves understanding demand projections, monitoring usage, and ensuring effective supply chain control, including inventory management and transportation. The intern will work closely with experienced analysts to develop solutions for complex supply chain issues while gaining valuable experience in a supportive environment focused on national security.

Responsibilities

  • Support the process steps and information flow for supply chain management life cycle functions under significant oversight.
  • Analyze data streams from all Program systems to ensure data effectiveness and accuracy.
  • Identify potential errors in data streams and collaborate with experienced professionals to develop solutions.
  • Comply with business system processes and BPMI operating instructions governing assigned supply chain management functions.
  • Support the review of asset life-cycle supply chain processes and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in testing business system improvements.
  • Support cyclic events such as annual reconciliations or audits.
  • Perform special projects or related non-essential functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Interdisciplinary studies, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of four full semesters completed prior to the internship (60 credits).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications desired.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Detail oriented self-starter.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong teaming skills working with all levels of management and Navy personnel.
