About the position
The Supply Chain Tech II position at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial is a full-time role focused on the distribution and management of supplies within the healthcare facility. This position is essential for ensuring that all necessary supplies, linens, and mail are efficiently delivered and stocked throughout the hospital, contributing to the overall patient care experience.
Responsibilities
- Distribute and issue daily supplies, linen, mail, and incoming shipments for the facility.
- Utilize the Inventory Control System and linen handheld computer efficiently.
- Restock supplies in Kanban bins, isolation carts, and crash carts, while identifying expired goods.
- Deliver patient care supplies as needed and fill linen carts for the entire facility.
- Enter all linen transactions into the computer system.
- Ensure appropriate stocking of supplies on nursing units and in clean utility rooms.
- Receive items and deliver them to all units in the facility.
- Complete any other assigned duties in linen, CPD, receiving, courier, and mailroom departments.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2-4 years' experience in a similar position, familiar with inventory control and Lawson or similar applications.
- Understanding of inventory functions in a distribution environment.
- Computer literacy and strong interpersonal skills.
