The Supply Chain Technician 2 position at UW Medicine Supply Chain Management is a full-time role focused on the efficient handling of general, medical, and surgical supplies across various healthcare settings. The primary responsibilities include receiving, warehousing, couriering, and delivering supplies, ensuring that all processes adhere to effective operational standards. This position is integral to maintaining the supply chain's integrity and supporting patient care by ensuring that necessary supplies are available when needed. The technician will work closely with nursing units, clinics, and other departments, utilizing various technologies to track and manage inventory effectively. In this role, the technician will be responsible for delivering supplies and packages to designated locations, utilizing signature technologies to confirm receipt. They will also handle customer service inquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely responses to requests. The technician will perform inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and physical inventories, and will utilize the Materials Management Information System (MMIS) to manage purchase orders and shipping processes. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is essential, as is the ability to resolve discrepancies in orders while adhering to departmental policies. The position reports to the System Receiving and Courier Supervisor/Manager, with additional oversight from the local Assistant Director/Site Lead. The technician may also lead project work and is expected to check supply locations for product expiration dates, ensuring compliance with removal policies.
