About the position

The Supply Chain Technician at ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital is responsible for performing physical and inventory-related tasks in supply chain logistics. This role involves receiving, storing, delivering, and replenishing supplies and equipment throughout the hospital campus to ensure a clinically integrated supply chain. The technician will work collaboratively with various departments to maintain inventory levels and support the hospital's operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Orders, delivers and stocks supplies for assigned departments as scheduled, maintaining proper par levels and storage space on shelves.
• Responsible for checking expiration dates, stock rotation and removal of excess inventory in managed inventory locations.
• Promotes teamwork and collaboration with co-workers, customers and leadership to problem-solve and promote innovative solutions.
• Processes and delivers supply and equipment requests, using good judgment in responding to requests for specific patient items.
• Unloads, inspects and checks material and supplies arriving at the dock, noting special storage or handling instructions.
• Handles all facets of outbound shipments in a cost-effective manner, documenting applicable RGA and tracking information.
• Enters patient charges and orders/documents using appropriate vendor websites as applicable, demonstrating accountability and collaboration.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Effective interpersonal, oral, and/or written communication skills
• Ability to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries
• Ability to work independently and think critically to problem solve
• Knowledge of Windows-based computer programs and capacity for learning specialized software programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in materials management preferred
