About the position

The Supply Chain Technician in Materials Management at ProMedica Toledo Hospital is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring timely delivery of supplies, and maintaining quality assurance standards. This per diem position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the hospital's mission of providing high-quality healthcare services.

Responsibilities

  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs and safety standards.
  • Responsible for checking expiration dates, stock rotation and removal of excess inventory in managed inventory locations.
  • Orders, delivers and stocks supplies for assigned departments as scheduled, maintaining proper par levels and storage space on shelves.
  • Promotes teamwork and collaboration with co-workers, customers and leadership to problem-solve and promote innovative solutions.
  • Processes and delivers supply and equipment requests, using good judgment in responding to requests for specific patient items.
  • Unloads, inspects and checks material and supplies arriving at the dock, noting special storage or handling instructions.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation for tracked items.
  • Collaborates with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to resolve receiving and invoice discrepancies.
  • Handles all facets of outbound shipments in a cost-effective manner, documenting applicable RGA and tracking information.
  • Demonstrates supply chain supporting behaviors of accountability, collaboration, reliability, dedication and integrity.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to work independently and think critically to problem solve.
  • Knowledge of Windows-based computer programs and capacity for learning specialized software programs.
  • Ability to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and/or written communication skills.
  • Good driving record to operate company vehicles as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in materials management preferred.
