The Supply Chain Trainee position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to various supply chain departments, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Production Planning, Transportation/Logistics, and Cheese Procurement. In this role, you will be tasked with identifying and supporting the implementation of cost reduction, network optimization, and process improvement opportunities. You will contribute to the success of the department by planning for SKUs, routes, categories, or distribution centers. Your responsibilities will include providing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to leadership, identifying and communicating risks such as over/shorts/delays to key stakeholders, and evaluating the network layout considering various factors to provide recommendations on optimizing the supply chain. You will also evaluate customer order patterns, shelf life, lead time, and other factors to establish default stocking recommendations, which may include recommending make to order or make to stock strategies. Responsibilities

  • Assist supply chain departments through Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Production Planning, Transportation/Logistics, or Cheese Procurement.
  • Contribute to the success of the department by planning for SKUs, routes, categories, or distribution centers.
  • Provide Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to leadership.
  • Identify and communicate risk (over/shorts/delays) to key stakeholders.
  • Evaluate network layout considering ordering quantities, distribution footprint, warehouse costs, transportation costs, and other factors to provide recommendations on optimization of the supply chain.
  • Evaluate customer order patterns, shelf life, lead time, and other factors to establish default stocking recommendations.
  • Recommend make to order or make to stock strategies, including target quantities for stocking.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Statistics/Mathematics, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Previous internship and/or working experience (preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and data management skills (Statistical Analysis).
  • Familiarity with supply chain concepts and software.
  • Familiarity with operational planning & scheduling.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, if/then).
  • Previous SAP experience (preferred).
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and positively represent and promote Saputo at all times.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and required overtime as needed.
  • Display traits of reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality.
  • Effective and efficient communication skills.
