About the position

The Supply Planning Coordinator - Level III at Cummins Inc. is responsible for determining the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet production schedules or customer demand. This role involves expediting orders and ensuring smooth operations while maintaining customer satisfaction. The position requires effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Report work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
  • Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Engage in relevant HSE training.
  • Follow applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures.
  • Perform quality checks on material planning master data (lead time, order quantities, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Quality teams to address non-conforming materials efficiently.
  • Initiate purchase and work orders aligned with the demand plan.
  • Participate in allocation discussions with Sourcing Managers and suppliers.
  • Collaborate to reduce lead times, manage order quantities, and balance supply with demand.
  • Reposition excess inventory to meet demand requirements across locations.
  • Manage part change requests, ramp-up/ramp-down activities, and obsolete inventory.
  • Reconcile order boards for critical suppliers and address past due orders.
  • Provide timely updates on inventory availability and recovery plans.
  • Support supplier improvement initiatives to enhance performance metrics.
  • Document, communicate, and follow up on action items to execute plans effectively.
  • Communicate effectively within teams and across functions.
  • Engage in training and development activities.
  • Participate in improvement projects focusing on safety, quality, process optimization, and material flow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Significant relevant work experience in materials planning, supplier management & scheduling, manufacturing, or inventory control.
  • Specialized skills in related fields acquired through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Licensing may be required for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Stakeholder management to ensure collaboration across departments.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge for data analysis and reporting.
