About the position

The Supply Technician (Office Automation) position at the Department of the Air Force is primarily responsible for providing supply operations support for specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts that require special handling and protection during shipment and storage. This role involves extensive information searches related to complex supply transactions, maintaining stock levels, preparing reports, and utilizing office automation software to produce various documents.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns.
  • Provide supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for equipment and/or parts requiring special handling.
  • Determine stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, and changing customer needs.
  • Prepare recurring and special reports, compiling statistics from data requiring substantial analysis.
  • Perform administrative office support functions and maintain cooperative working relationships with team members and operating officials.
  • Use multiple office automation software to produce a wide range of documents, including complex forms, graphics, and tables.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-06 level or equivalent in other pay systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Intensive knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure supply support for production and repair operations.
  • Knowledge of office automation software procedures and function keys to produce a variety of documents.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automated supply systems and data entry processes.
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment such as copiers and fax machines.
