About the position

The Support Analyst - Financial Services Regulatory (FSRE) position at Mayer Brown involves providing research and client support within the Litigation, Regulatory, and Enforcement practice group. This role is writing-intensive and requires maintaining positive client relationships while ensuring confidentiality. The analyst will assist attorneys with regulatory issues, legislative reporting, congressional investigations, and marketing support, contributing to the firm's commitment to excellence and client service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on regulatory and legal issues for the Financial Services Regulatory & Enforcement practice group.
  • Prepare reports and memoranda related to congressional hearings and financial regulatory actions.
  • Monitor local, state, and federal regulatory enforcement agencies and prepare summaries of relevant developments.
  • Assist with congressional investigation matters and business development needs.
  • Support practice group management in marketing and administrative functions, including tracking matters and maintaining web presence.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Business Development & Marketing staff, ensuring promotional materials are accurate and current.
  • Monitor press sources for relevant issues and circulate information to the practice group and clients.
  • Assist attorneys with practice-related projects and perform clerical tasks related to litigation file management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Economics, Finance, or Government preferred).
  • 0-2 years of experience in Congressional, financial regulatory agency, or similar internships.
  • Strong interest in US financial regulations and congressional procedure.
  • Writing and proofreading experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with public-facing documents and working under deadlines.
  • Interest in presentation design and marketing.
  • Familiarity with graphic design programs.
