About the position

The Support Engineer role is focused on providing comprehensive technical support and system configuration for Microsoft 365 services, ensuring seamless and secure IT operations for clients. The position requires expertise in various technologies including SharePoint, Microsoft Intune, and VPN services, along with a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Microsoft 365 services, including user provisioning, license management, and troubleshooting across applications such as SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange.
  • Set up, configure, and manage SharePoint Online sites, libraries, and permissions, supporting teams with site customization and troubleshooting access issues.
  • Deploy and manage devices using Microsoft Intune, configuring compliance policies and security protocols for endpoint management.
  • Administer email exchange services, managing configurations and troubleshooting to ensure reliable email communication.
  • Configure and support Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to secure remote connections and monitor VPN connections for secure access.
  • Manage file servers, perform data backups, maintain access permissions, and conduct regular maintenance for data storage.
  • Operate Datto Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools to oversee system performance and manage Datto Cloud Backup for data recovery.
  • Utilize advanced software management tools for software deployment and system compliance.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues, providing Tier 1 and 2 technical support.
  • Conduct user training on SharePoint, Intune policies, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support or system administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including SharePoint, Intune, and Exchange.
  • Proficiency in VPN configuration and management.
  • Experience with file server management and Datto RMM tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to IT support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Intune.
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory, Windows Server environments, and network security best practices.
  • Familiarity with enterprise mobility management, endpoint security, and cloud data management.
