About the position
The Support Staff position at Watson Clinic is a full-time role focused on assisting nursing and anesthesia personnel in the Operating Rooms. The primary responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and organization in the operating environment, supporting patient positioning, and ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available for surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing personnel in the Operating Rooms as needed.
- Perform between case decontamination and terminal cleaning of the rooms daily.
- Assist with cleaning of windows and blinds in restricted and semi-restricted areas each month.
- Assist with patient positioning as needed.
- Hold extremities for preps.
- Assist with moving of patients in preparation for transport.
- Place stretchers outside of ORs.
- Assist anesthesia personnel in the Operating Room as needed.
- Decontaminate anesthesia equipment (i.e. laryngoscope blades, oral airways, writing surfaces, etc.).
- Inspect equipment (B/P cuffs, cables, etc.) prior to the start of the day, replacing as needed.
- Maintain adequate room stock according to established par levels.
- Stock anesthesia supplies on individual anesthesia carts.
- Respond to anesthesia needs throughout the day.
- Deliver needed supplies and equipment to rooms during surgery as needed.
- Assist with medical gases; check all medical gases and make calls for service as needed.
- Perform routine and terminal cleaning of Operating Room between cases and at finish of the schedule including washing of walls, ceiling, floors, and the use of special equipment such as a mop system and buffing machines, etc.
- Dust furniture.
- Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
- Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Entry-level position with no prior experience necessary.
Nice-to-haves
- Minimum of one (1) related experience preferred.
