About the position
The Support Staff Substitute position at Tillamook School District offers opportunities for individuals to assist in various educational roles, including Educational Assistants, Food Service, Secretarial, and Custodial positions. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with students, parents, and teachers, as well as the ability to follow instructions and work independently. Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers as Educational Assistants.
- Provide food service support with a current Food Handlers Certificate.
- Perform secretarial duties with prior experience preferred.
- Carry out custodial tasks with prior experience preferred.
- Implement behavior management techniques as needed.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers.
- Follow general oral and written instructions.
- Work independently and take initiative in task performance.
- Complete annual district trainings.
Requirements
- Possess an Associate's degree or higher, or
- Complete two years of study at an institute of higher education with a minimum of 72 quarter college credits or 48 semester college credits, or
- Pass a local assessment test demonstrating basic knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Highly qualified paraprofessional status preferred.
- Prior secretarial experience preferred.
- Prior custodial experience preferred.
- Behavior management techniques preferred.
