About the position

The Support Staff/Community Partner at Ampersand Community Services plays a vital role in providing daily support to adults with disabilities. This position focuses on fostering autonomy and life skills through individualized goal plans in a collaborative community environment. The role is designed for compassionate individuals who are dedicated to helping community members discover and practice their passions, ensuring a fulfilling and purposeful life.

Responsibilities

• Establish a trusting relationship with all community members.
• Design and lead programs in collaboration with community members for small groups.
• Facilitate democratic style meetings with groups of adults with disabilities.
• Carry out customized plans for each individual by implementing programs designed by the Supervisor.
• 1:1 Community Member Mentoring.
• Track weekly attendance and activities for each individual using provided reporting methods.
• Write and take photos for the monthly newsletter.
• Ensure the safety of all clients by following procedures.
• Provide or assist with providing direct care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions as designed by Ampersand's team.
• Observe and record behavior and activities, and report any changes in condition.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (required).
• 1 year experience working with children or adults in a caretaker capacity or in the field of education or ABA.
• Compassionate and patient attitude with a dedication to being present every day.
• Reliable and dependable individual.
• Willingness to learn and be open to constructive feedback for development.
• CPR Certification (preferred).
• Ability to pass State and Federal Background Check.
