About the position

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - OC/INFRASTRUCTURE DIRECTORATE.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, advice, guidance and direction, and makes significant contributions to the quality and responsiveness of the Directorate in all matters related to the Directorate products and services.
  • Provides direction for solving the extremely complex technical problems associated with the testing and evaluation of DISA.
  • Renders advice and technical on operational problems arising throughout the directorate. Confers with personnel from DISA, Joint Staff, OSD, and other federal.
  • Represents PEO-Transport speaking as the authority on technical matters related to sustaining and optimizing the DISN infrastructure issues and programs.
  • Identifies need for testing, evaluations and certifications across joint and allied lines for all identified interoperability/net-readiness requirements.
  • Directly responsible operation of the PEO-Transport efforts in support of DISA, with responsibilities including the interoperability test panels and steering groups, joint test and evaluation, strategic communications, and technical support.
  • As senior technical authority, provides direction, guidance and oversight of all information systems network reporting.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment.
  • This is a Drug Testing Position.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
  • Acquisition certification in the Engineering and Technical Management Functional Area at the Practitioner Functional Tier within 60 months of entry into this position, in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66 required.
