The Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Classification/Recruitment and Placement) position at the Department of the Navy involves overseeing staffing and employment functions within the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southeast. Responsibilities

• Plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust priorities, and prepare work completion schedules.
• Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, assignment difficulty, and employee capabilities.
• Perform various administrative responsibilities such as approving leave and monitoring attendance/leave usage.
• Interpret and apply recruitment and placement laws, regulations, policies, and practices to provide advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees, and applicants.
• Provide advice on the establishment of new/revised position descriptions, reorganizations/realignments, and classification advisories.
• Serve as a technical expert in OPM, DOD, and DON workforce shaping programs and policies.

Requirements

• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience applying a wide range of Federal civilian classification, staffing, and placement concepts and practices.
• Ability to provide advisory support on complex staffing, compensation, and pay setting issues.
• Experience delivering high-quality, customer service-oriented human resources management work products.
