About the position

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Supervisor Open Source Research Analyst in Springfield, VA. This managerial role involves overseeing a diverse team of civilian, military, and contractor personnel within the Geospatial Open Source Division. The Deputy Division Chief will play a crucial role in supporting the agency's open source mission, which includes formulating strategies and representing the NGA at various national and international forums. The position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage resources, direct projects, and ensure that the agency's objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner. As part of the Source Strategies Office leadership team, the selected candidate will be responsible for a range of managerial and supervisory functions. This includes justifying and allocating resources across the organization, setting organizational priorities, and ensuring that all team members are aligned with the agency's strategic goals. The role also involves conveying complex topics to senior leadership and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the agency's open source capabilities. Candidates must be prepared to undergo a rigorous selection process, which may include assessments to evaluate their job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. The NGA emphasizes the importance of maintaining high standards of security and fitness for employment, requiring candidates to obtain a Top Secret security clearance and pass a polygraph test. This position is permanent and full-time, offering a competitive salary range of $123,041.00 to $168,152.00, depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee civilian, military, and contractor personnel within the Geospatial Open Source Division.
  • Support the Division Chief in formulating agency open source strategy.
  • Represent NGA at national, international, and departmental levels as an alternate representative to the National Open Source Committee and Defense Open Source Council.
  • Manage resources effectively across the organization, including budget and personnel allocation.
  • Convey complex topics to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify priorities and oversee complex tasks to achieve strategic goals within timelines.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience conveying complex topics to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Open-Source Intelligence collection and processing.
  • Demonstrated experience with Commercially Acquired Information (CAI) or publicly available information.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budget/resource management life-cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience leading others by identifying priorities and overseeing complex tasks.
