About The Position

The position involves safely and effectively setting up and operating Surface Grinders to manufacture precision hardware from blueprints. The role requires a strong understanding of engineering specifications and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings. The individual will be responsible for completing setups and efficiently running moderate to very complex parts on Surface Grinders, following detailed setup instructions.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5+ years' experience setting up and operating Surface Grinders, grinding various types of materials.
• Honing experience a plus.
• Strong math skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work from verbal and/or written instructions with minimum supervision.
• Ability to perform duties in conjunction with EHS personnel, ensuring safety.

Responsibilities

• Complete all setups and efficiently run moderate to very complex parts on Surface Grinders following detailed setup instructions.
• Consistently demonstrate the ability to meet critical engineering specifications as shown on engineering prints.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Identify process improvements and incorporate necessary changes.
• Develop well-documented setup sheets and other associated documentation necessary for efficient manufacturing of parts.
• Communicate with Manufacturing Management Staff and Machinists for shift change over and process requirements.
• Perform routine PM on machines (I.E. grease, oil, coolant, filters).
