About the position
The Surface Mount Machine Operator 1 position is a critical role within a North Austin company that specializes in providing Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) to a diverse range of industries including Telecommunications, Aerospace and Defense, Military, Aviation, Commercial, Medical, and High-Reliability sectors. The operator will be responsible for the operation of various machines including Paste Printers, Pick and Place Machines, and Reflow Machines. This position requires a high level of accountability and attention to detail, as the operator will also be responsible for hand placement of components. Ideal candidates should be motivated individuals who can work independently as well as part of a team, and who are flexible with overtime when the company is busy and deadlines need to be met. The work environment is climate-controlled and clean, although some machine movement and exhaust noises are expected. Operators will need to stand and operate machines for extended periods, specifically for two-hour intervals. The role also involves checking the quality of pasted boards and small hand-placed components, which requires adequate vision. Previous experience with common SMT brands such as Panasonic, JUKI, Hanwha, FUJI, Yamaha, ASM SMT, Kulicke & Soffa, Universal, Mirae, and Taiwan Evest is highly desirable. This position is full-time, with a pay rate ranging from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, and a schedule of Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime expected as needed.
Responsibilities
- Load Machine Feeders with correct components
- Operate paste printers for Re-runs
- Operate Pick and Place machines
- Perform Reflow operations using correct profiles
- Hand place correct components
- Complete daily log book and first article inspection logs.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in the same or similar field of industry.
- Ability to stand and operate machines for 2-hour periods.
- Ability to hand place very small components efficiently.
- Adequate vision to check the quality of pasted boards and small hand-placed components.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience working with common SMT Brands like Panasonic, JUKI, Hanwha, FUJI, Yamaha, ASM SMT, Kulicke & Soffa, Universal, Mirae and Taiwan Evest.
