About the position

The Surgery Scheduler at TriCities Orthopedics plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality and efficient patient care by coordinating surgical schedules and obtaining necessary clinical information. This position requires collaboration with medical staff and facilities to streamline operations and support patient interactions, reflecting the organization's commitment to healthcare excellence.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 Diagnosis codes and other clinical information for patient treatment.
• Determine operating room time needed for procedures and coordinate scheduling with the facility.
• Ensure all requirements for procedures are confirmed with the facility, including medical records and necessary equipment.
• Verify physician credentials at the Center of Facility before scheduling patients.
• Coordinate provider clinic and facility schedules, including awareness of provider commitments and continuing education.
• Adhere to HCA Code of Conduct, Ethics and Compliance policies, and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

• High school degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting, such as an ambulatory surgery center, hospital, or doctor's office.

Nice-to-haves

• BLS certification may be required as per practice standard.
