About the position

The Surgery Scheduler at Mercy Hospital of Bakersfield is responsible for coordinating surgical procedures and anesthesia provider coverage. This role involves direct interaction with surgeons, their office staff, and anesthesiologists, ensuring efficient scheduling and maintenance of surgical schedules to support quality patient care initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical procedures and anesthesia provider coverage for Mercy Hospital.
• Interact with surgeons and their office staff, as well as anesthesiologists.
• Enter scheduling data into the computer system accurately.
• Produce and distribute the surgery schedule.
• Maintain block scheduling and surgical scheduling systems.
• Perform additional clerical duties to support daily clinic operations.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of recent OR scheduling experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Experience in scheduling anesthesiology providers.
• High school diploma or general equivalency.
