About the position

The Surgery Scheduler at TriCities Orthopedics plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality and efficient care. This position involves coordinating surgical schedules, obtaining necessary clinical information, and ensuring compliance with medical and facility requirements. The Surgery Scheduler will work closely with medical staff and facilities to streamline scheduling processes and support patient care initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 Diagnosis codes and other clinical information required for patient treatment.
• Determine operating room time needed for procedures and coordinate scheduling with the facility.
• Ensure all requirements for procedures are obtained and confirmed with the facility, including medical records and necessary equipment.
• Verify physician credentials at the Center of Facility before scheduling patients.
• Coordinate provider clinic and facility schedules, including awareness of provider commitments and continuing medical education.

Requirements

• High school degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting, such as an ambulatory surgery center, hospital, or doctor's office, is highly preferred.
• BLS may be required as per practice standard.
