About the position

The Surgery Scheduler (Patient Services Coordinator) at United Vein & Vascular Centers plays a crucial role in enhancing patient experience by managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and insurance processing. This position is integral to the healthcare team, ensuring that patients receive timely and efficient service while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients upon arrival and sign them in for their appointment.
  • Obtain insurance information and any other necessary data from patients.
  • Provide patients with intake and new patient forms, as well as copies of office policies and legally required documents.
  • Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits.
  • Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on provided schedule guidelines.
  • Maintain hard copy patient records and files stored in the EMR system.
  • Audit schedule to ensure patient insurance eligibility.
  • Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.

  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred).
  • 2+ years' experience in medical assisting or administration.
  • Familiarity with ECW is a plus.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software.
