About the position

The position is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all aspects of patient surgeries at Baptist Health South Florida. This role involves creating and submitting surgical encounters for billing, verifying patient demographics and insurance information, and obtaining necessary authorizations for surgery. The individual will work closely with surgeons and supporting departments to ensure accurate scheduling and coding of surgeries, while embodying the organization's mission of service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate all aspects of patient surgeries.
• Create and submit surgical encounters in Soarian for billing.
• Obtain and verify all patient demographics and insurance information.
• Obtain authorization for surgery and ensure accurate procedure and diagnosis codes for billing.
• Work closely with surgeons and supporting departments to ensure proper scheduling and coding of surgeries.
• Provide professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients and physicians.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience required.
• Surgery experience required.
• Professional, detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
• Effective communication skills with surgeons, patients, and operational and clinical leadership.
• Proficient in EMR, computer applications, and scheduling systems (Cerner, Soarian, etc.).
• Bilingual (Spanish) required.
