About the position
The Surgical First Assistant collaborates with surgeons to ensure safe operations and optimal patient outcomes. This role involves providing perioperative care for patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, and requires specific knowledge and skills to assure quality patient care in the surgical operating room.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgeon during operations to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Provide perioperative care for patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Utilize critical thinking to make effective clinical decisions during surgical procedures.
- Manage time effectively to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate and collaborate with other members of the surgical team and hospital staff.
- Identify issues and implement solutions related to surgical instrumentation and equipment.
Requirements
- Current MD license to practice in Oregon.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of electronic equipment and software.
- Ability to analyze and make effective clinical decisions.
Nice-to-haves
- ASBA certification preferred.
Benefits
- Per diem pay ranging from $50.28 to $75.42 per hour.
