About the position
The Surgical Technologist position involves assisting in surgical operations by preparing operating rooms, arranging equipment, and ensuring a sterile environment. The role is critical in supporting surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, ensuring that all necessary tools and supplies are readily available and that the surgical area is maintained in accordance with health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and surgical staff during operations by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Ensure the sterility of the surgical environment and equipment.
- Monitor the patient's condition during surgery and report any changes to the surgical team.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after procedures.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
