About the position
The Surgical Technician - PRN position at Precision Vision Surgery Center involves assisting in surgical operations under the supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses, and Surgical Assistants. The role requires the individual to assist in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State, and accreditation standards and company policies and procedures. The technician will help deliver the highest standard of patient care available.
Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical operations under supervision.
- Organize and maintain the daily function of the operating room.
- Prepare surgical instruments and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures.
- Maintain records of medications used, specimens retrieved, and other relevant information.
- Assist in patient transfer to PACU if needed.
- Participate in continuing education and staff meetings.
- Help clean and restock the operating room.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Favorable result on Background Check.
- Two (2) years of hospital main operating room experience preferred.
- Certification as a Surgical Technician preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
