Surgical Technologist, Full Time

About the position

Fairview Range is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for Surgical Services team in Hibbing, MN. We're offering an up to $30,000 sign-on bonus for a three-year commitment! As a Certified Surgical Technologist, you will provide perioperative care to patients under the direction of an RN, scrubs, and assists surgeons by handling instruments during procedures, maintains aseptic technique, maintains instruments and equipment for efficient functioning, and performs other duties as assigned. Schedule: This position will work 72 to 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the day shift. Weekdays and weekends on call. Internal posting through 1/14/24. About Surgical Services unit: With over 55 physicians, Fairview Range Medical Center has the largest surgical staff on the Iron Range with a variety of surgical services offered in areas such as ENT, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and General Surgery. Responsibilities

• Providing direct perioperative patient care with regard to the physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being of the patient.
• Assisting the RN in coordinating a plan of care based on prioritized patient needs related to types of surgical procedures and surgeon preferences.
• Providing age specific direct patient care in collaboration with all involved subject areas according to standards of care.
• Assisting RN, anesthesia personnel, and the surgeon in prompt identification of charges in patient condition.

Requirements

• One year of operating room or similar scrub experience within the last five years.
• BLS required.
• Eligible to sit for the Certification of Surgery Technologist within one year.

• Prior experience working as a surgical technologist
• Graduate of a surgical technology program
