The Surgical Technologist (ORT I) plays a crucial role as a member of the surgical team, ensuring that operative procedures are conducted safely and successfully. This position operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and reports directly to the Surgical Services management. The ORT I is expected to support system-wide and surgical operations initiatives, actively participating in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined. This role is essential in maintaining a safe environment for patients undergoing surgery, which is a complex and dynamic setting. The Surgical Operations department offers opportunities across various facilities, including American Fork Hospital, Orem Community Hospital, Spanish Fork Hospital, and Utah Valley Hospital. Candidates can apply for positions across these units or choose a specific facility. The surgical environment is team-oriented, involving collaboration with a diverse group of professionals, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses. Surgical Technologists are integral to these teams, providing support and ensuring that patients receive exceptional care. Surgical services shifts are primarily scheduled from Monday to Friday, with options for 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts, accommodating both part-time and full-time needs. There are also limited night shifts available for those who require a different schedule. While most surgical procedures occur during the day, some evening and weekend on-call duties may be necessary.
